We're in The Movies - Double Whammy now out on video/dvd
 Lion's Gate Cinema has finally released Double Whammy with Elizabeth
Hurley as a DC (her picture is on the left, like you thought that was
me?). I had gotten a call from Mr. Wei of their production dept. They
wanted to use Koren Publications brochures and posters in the movie. "We
really like how they look" he said. A couple days ago I got a call from
a friend who rented the movie: "Tedd, your brochures are featured
prominently in the adjusting room." (I haven't seen the movie yet, but I
hope they're not used during the seduction scene which is supposed to
take place during an anterior adjustment on the table.) 
Ritalin shrinks children's brains
14-year-old Matthew Smith dropped dead of a heart attack while
skateboarding. The 9th grader had been on Ritalin (methylphenidate)
since the 1st grade. Lawrence Smith, father of the boy, testified that
he and his wife were forced by Michigan Social Services to put their
child on Ritalin or else be charged for neglecting their son's
educational and emotional needs.

No long-range studies have been made of the effects of Ritalin on
children who take it over a number of years. However, since 1986 it was
known that Ritalin causes shrinkage of the brain. Psychiatry Research
(Vol. 17, 1986) noted: "Mild cerebral atrophy who had received stimulant
drug treatment for a period of time." July 1996 study in the Archives of
General Psychiatry revealed that "Subjects with ADHD had a 4.7 percent
smaller total cerebral volume."

Another example of the non-linear nature of life
H. Hugh Fudenberg, MD says that the immune system regulates the brain
and the nervous system via the immune cells' effect on the hypothalamus.
The hypothalamus manufactures hormones called corticotrophin-releasing
factors, which stimulate the pituitary to secrete other hormones that
affect the thyroid. The direct connection between the immune system and
the brain is further evidenced by certain neurotransmitter receptors
found in brain cells and also in lymphocytes and monocytes. He told Sam
Biser, "If the immune system is weak, the brain cells become atrophied.
These brain cells are not dead; they are small and not functioning.when
the immune cells are not working the brain cells are not working

Life U. sues CCE. Logan holds CCE's coat

On Jan 2nd, 2003, Life University filed a lawsuit asking a federal judge
to immediately reinstate its chiropractic accreditation and seeking
damages from the CCE. Life President Ben DeSpain, became frustrated with
the council's insistence that Life wait two years to reapply for
accreditation. "You can't reason with them," DeSpain said. "They're
trifling with us. They have no intention of providing any immediate
attention that would allow any source of relief."

The lawsuit says CCE violated its own policies by sending
representatives of competing chiropractic schools to review Life's
accreditation. A representative of Logan College of Chiropractic near
St. Louis was on an appeal panel that revoked Life's accreditation.
Within days, the chairman of Logan's board of trustees made an offer to
purchase Life, the lawsuit states.

The suit also names Walker individually, and states the loss of
accreditation came because of his personal animosity toward Williams.
"Walker.informed Life's current president.. that Life never should have
lost accreditation, but that such action was due to 'that demagogue,'
Dr. Williams," the complaint states.

To Live Longer MD Recommends Avoiding MDs
As a retired physician, I can honestly say that unless you are in a
serious accident, your best chance of living to a ripe old age is to
avoid doctors and hospitals and learn nutrition, herbal medicine and
other forms of natural medicine unless you are fortunate enough to have
a naturopathic physician available. Almost all drugs are toxic and are
designed only to treat symptoms and not to cure anyone. Vaccines are
highly dangerous, have never been adequately studied or proven to be
effective, and have a poor risk/reward ratio. Most surgery is
unnecessary and most textbooks of medicine are inaccurate and deceptive.
Almost every disease is said to be idiopathic (without known cause) or
genetic - although this is untrue. In short, our mainstream medical
system is hopelessly inept and/or corrupt. The treatment of cancer and
degenerative diseases is a national scandal. The sooner you learn this,
the better off you will be.

Addendum: Dear Dr. Koren, Most people don't realize that pharmaceutical
medicine is a false paradigm doomed to failure, as most drugs will
damage the mitochondria as well as interfere with essential biochemical
pathways. I strongly object to Medicare coverage of prescription drugs,
because, the more drugs people take, the worse their health will be. A
better idea would be Medicare coverage of nutritional supplements and
other alternative treatments such as chelation therapy. Alan Greenberg,

Dear Dr. Koren, My 4-year-old daughter, Eva, is in
pre-school/kindergarten. There were a significant amount of absences
during Oct and Nov and the class was about half its normal size. The
teacher asks the group, "Many classmates are sick and absent. What can
we do to stay healthy?" The teacher was expecting washing hands or
blowing your nose. Eva shot her hand up right away and answered, "Get
adjusted." The teacher shared the story with the entire school in the

Nurse Refuses Vaccinations
Dear Dr. Koren, When our four children were school age I signed a
refusal sheet exempting them from all immunizations. Eventually the
school informed me that I could not refuse immunizations anymore. So
after a few weeks I just told the school that they had their shots at
the free clinic and never took them there. They were never sick a day in
their life, never had any disorders due to immunizations and their
children have never had immunizations. They see chiropractors regularly
and eat healthy foods and live healthy lives - so why need shots?
This is almost as bad as forced Small Pox vaccine. I am a nurse and know
full well that leaving a small pox patient to handle initial fever,
chills, headache etc and after that subsides all you need to do is let
the blisters break on their own, not apply any medication and gently
wash off all the drainage from broken blisters several times a day and
leave the scabs, the patient will survive and won't have any pock-marks.

Dear Tedd, I just recently enjoyed lunch with a dear friend, a renowned
orthopedic surgeon. We enjoy a comfortable referral relationship. We
were discussing our various successes with patients we have shared.
Suddenly, there was a rare moment of silence. He looked at me and asked,
"I feel silly asking you this, but what, exactly, is it you do?!"
What a great question! I was so glad he asked, and I told him so. I took
him, step by step, through the anatomy and physiology of the Vertebral
Subluxation. We agreed it occurs and ultimately hurts the organ or
tissue to which the nerve is going, and otherwise messes up the
communication between brain and body. You see, to MD's what we do is
"sub-clinical," or "below the radar." They're not trained to look where
we do. And with 80-90% of the people who come to see us getting well, we
