My child is totally deaf in her left
ear but not through contracting measles. I did listen to
the government. I gave my consent for her to be
immunised with the MMR. She became extremely unwell and
was subsequently diagnosed with sensorineural deafness,
a condition which unbeknown to me was listed as a
possible side effect of the type of
Urabe containing MMR she received. Her medical notes
record normal hearing before the MMR and because her
doctors highlight how there is no other explanation in
her history for her deafness I lay the blame for her
affliction squarely at the door of the MMR vaccination.
I'm not terribly sure whether or not I am a "foolish"
parent for I believe with the same conviction as Phil in
blaming the measles for his affliction, that my daughter
was left deaf following the MMR vaccination. I believe
she was vaccine damaged and that came about because I
listened to the government and had her immunised so by
Phil's definition that probably means I'm not foolish.
