Review by Professor Pietro Croce (Italy) [Libero Docente Universita di Milano; Jr Aff Member of the College American Pathologists; Member of the American Soc of Clinical Pathologists; Patologo] of ANIMAL RESEARCH T A K E S LIVES - Humans and Animals BOTH Suffer:
"Dear Mrs Overell
Congratulations. You wrote a splendid book; a precious contribution to our AV movement. I received ANIMAL RESEARCH T A K E S LIVES from Mr Hans Ruesch a couple of months ago. I read it during my vacation time. I appreciated the whole book, but particularly its organization of chapters, each of which emphasises in detail the general concept that animal experiments don't have anything to do with the progress in the treatment of the most important human diseases: cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis... and with some of the most current surgical techniques. Excellent index (page 353 and following) for its accuracy and completeness. Many authors seem to disregard the importance of the 'analytical index' in a book intended not solely to be read (and re-read) but also (and especially) to be consulted.
Well, at this point I have decided to re-read, starting right now, your ANIMAL RESEARCH T A K E S LIVES!
Thank you, Mrs Bette Overell, for having given me that opportunity and pleasure.
Yours Sincerely
Pietro Croce
