Dear Bette
My congratulations are coming to you from the South of France, for your invaluable contribution to the struggle against the crime of vivisection:
ANIMAL RESEARCH T A K E S LIVES - Humans and Animals BOTH Suffer
This book is truly a milestone on the painful road to the abolition of animal experiments.
I have read most of the A/V publications in English, French and German, over the past 15 years and I would like to state that yours is one of the best: well-founded with convincing arguments and making it - in spite of the difficult subject - easy reading.
It is a must for anyone interested in human health, nature and animals.
It will certainly prevent attentive readers becoming victims of pharmaceutical disasters through - animal tested and 'found safe' - medicine.
This is the greatest gift for any occasion, that somebody who cares, can offer to his family, friends and neighbours.
The fact that the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture has bulk-mailed their booklet Animal Research Saves Lives (ARSL), is really a tremendous tribute to you and your entire anti-vivisection movement.
The pharmaceutical industry, including the greedy bunch of vivisectors in the laboratories, hoped to disarm and discourage you with ARSL. They never figured, that you would hit them back with their own controversial statements and lies, and that you could prove to the public, that vivisectors are not even at the slightest interested, to save human lives - as long as the dollars keep rolling in.
So the ARSL attack was a blessing in disguise, which prompted you to write your excellent book and you came out stronger than ever before.
Once more: congratulations and - thank you for it. Sincerely yours,
Hans Fischinger"
