Review in Soil & Health, April/May 1994, of ANIMAL RESEARCH  T A K E S  LIVES - Humans and Animals BOTH Suffer.

"Bette Overell's book is an exposure, par excellence, of the evils of vivisection and the corruption associated with it.  She is answering points raised in an Animal Research Saves Lives booklet issued (1990) by MAF and the AGCARM, NZ's arm of the vivisection industry.

The author has obviously spent many hours researching the information for this book and has succeeded in producing facts and figures that are frightening and horrifying, but sadly, very true.

ARTL is essential reading for all who care about humans and animals.  It is a book that will be read avidly by young and old for we must all be concerned about the continuing use of animals for research purposes.

It is well set out and although 360 pages in length, it holds one's interest throughout.

I commend this 'first for NZ' to all our readers.  This ought to be the Book of the Year.
