Dr. Salisbury reply to Meningitis B vaccine question from Sandy Lunoe

The authorities who promote the Bexsero meningitis B vaccine know very little about the ingredients.
I asked Dr. Salisbury Dir. Of Immunisation, UK Dept of Health:
1. Regarding OMVs (outer membrane vesicles), I understand that they are involved in c
reation of antibodies. Do they also function as adjuvant?
2. What is the function of histidine?

From Dr.Salisbury:
It is not possible to answer if the outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) have an adjuvanting effect - that certainly was not the reason for the inclusion of the OMVs.
I suggest you contact Novartis for information on the histidine content.

Yours sincerely,
Professor David M Salisbury CB FRCP FRCPCH FFPH
Director of Immunisation, Department of Health Prof. David Salisbury CB FRCP FRCPCH FFPH
CONCLUSION
Dir. of Immunisation for Dept. of Health Professor David David Salisbury CB FRCP FRCPCH FFPH does not know whether the OMVs act as adjuvants nor does he know why histidine is included in the vaccine.
