Yes, the shaved head is very ritualistic and a part of the trauma-based mind control = stripping you of your selfidentity, losing strenght, losing control/mind control.
It can also work in the other way, as it can be done as an act of rebellion against the handlers, as with Britney Spears for instance.

By shaving her head the victim tries to make herself less pretty/attractive - she desexualizes herself - from her abusers and tries to free herself from the "pretty doll" image.
