Maximilien Robespierre (1758-1794). One of the best-known figures of the bloody
French Revolution. Involved in perpetuating the Reign of Terror (1793-1794). On
July 28th 1794, Robespierre was executed by guillotine, without trial in the
Place de la Révolution. (according to legend, the only man to be guillotined
