I note your correspondent Ann Ballin (7 April) is offering to further inform readers about vivisection through the vivisectionists' propaganda machine ANZCCART (Australia and NZ Council for the Care of Animals in Research & Training).
Please allow me to save her much trouble with these immovable, unchanging facts. Today's 'research' is based almost exclusively on animal experimentation, which is medical and scientific fraud because it is impossible to recreate a naturally occurring human disease in a healthy animal simply because once it is recreated it is no longer the original natural disease.
ANZCCART claims to operate on a purely advisory basis. Who are its advisers? Is it aware, or even interested, that the US National Cancer Institute's advisory board president recently said: 'For 35 years, US scientists labouring in the National Cancer Institute's screening programme have injected more than 40,000 chemicals into leukemic mice, hoping to find chemotherapies that would help solve the 'riddle of cancer' '. Admitting: 'We've been using the wrong system as the screening device'. Before mentioning that in future human cell cultures would be used.
The only hope for a successful treatment and possible cure is clinical research, or the observation of human beings who have naturally occurring diseases.
Regarding Ballin's infatuation with the term 'animal rights': the biomedical empire has a vested interest in promoting this slogan because making vivisection a moral, ethical, philosophical or religious issue is the most effective way to shift the public's attention away from its medical and scientific fraudulence.
Since the only valid test of a product or method comes when the first human being tries it, the issue equally involves 'human rights'. (Abridged)
