The following was published in Wellington newspaper City Voice, 24 February 1994

"Ann Ballin states that the information contained in the 368-page book ANIMAL RESEARCH  T A K E S  LIVES - Humans and Animals BOTH Suffer 'is not supported by the established medical literature'.  Well if Ms Ballin has read the book at all it must be a different publication to the one I have read which has its information taken from publications such as the British Medical Journal, Journal of the American Medical Association, Lancet, and NZ Medical Journal, as well as other medical journals.  In fact the book contains no less than 21 references to the British Medical Journal alone.  Do these publications not fall into Ann Ballin's definition of 'established medical literature'?  To see the ridiculousness of Ann Ballin's claims for themselves readers can borrow Animal Research Takes Lives from their library.
