The following was published in Wellington newspaper Evening Post, 3 March 1994
Sir, Unsubstantiated claims without examples is all Dame Ann Ballin (Letters, Feb 22) offers in attacking the book ANIMAL RESEARCH T A K E S LIVES - Humans and Animals BOTH Suffer. Is this the type of 'credible information resource' that ANZCCART, is offering?
It would be a mistake for your readers to gain the impression that ANZCCART is a balanced and unbiased organisation. Included among its members and associates are pharmaceutical companies, Crown research institutes using animals, the Health Research Council, and the Agricultural Chemical and Animal Remedies Manufacturers' Association... the vivisectors and their promoters.
Does Dame Ballin's use of the word 'unfortunate' refer to the financial state of the above members and associates if readers read the fully-sourced, scientific and medical evidence that is contained in Animal Research Takes Lives?
