[2016 June] Japanese Government Continues to Ban the MMR Vaccine
Why did Japan ban MMR vaccine?
“The triple jab was banned in Japan in 1993 after 1.8 million children had
been given two types of MMR and a record number developed non-viral
meningitis and other adverse reactions. Official figures show there were
three deaths while eight children were left with permanent handicaps ranging
from damaged hearing and blindness to loss of control of limbs. The
government reconsidered using MMR in 1999 but decided it was safer to keep
the ban and continue using individual vaccines for measles, mumps and
rubella.”

[2015 Sept] Behind the Scenes / Cancer vaccine reactions stand out in Japan The survey found that of the 1,739 patients who reported symptoms, the vast majority recovered within one week, but 186 patients had not yet recovered. The symptoms were wide-ranging, including headaches, body pain and convulsions, and over 60 percent of sufferers experienced multiple symptoms. Middle and high school-aged girls were the most affected, hindering their ability to attend classes and hugely impacting their school lives.

MMR vaccine & aseptic meningitis, Japan 1989-1993
Japan's Health Ministry says the withdrawal of the MMR vaccine for children did not
cause an increase in deaths from measles. It followed UK Prime Minister Tony Blair's comments this week in which
he cited Japan
as an example of the dangers of not having the combined vaccine for measles, mumps and
rubella. (ref):
"Urabe-strain
MMR had been withdrawn in Britain the previous year for the same reasons
(shamefully, the Health Department had known of the dangers when it was
introduced) and replaced with an updated version.
Japan, by contrast, switched entirely to single jabs. This has resulted, says
the Health Department, in a measles epidemic in Japan and 79 deaths from the
disease between 1992 and 1997.
On the face of it, then, this seems a strong argument
for sticking with MMR. But Dr Hiroki Nakatani, director of the Infectious
Disease Division at Japan's Ministry of Health and Welfare, has a very different
story to tell.
He says that in 1989, when Japan
first introduced MMR, there were 34 deaths from measles; in 1990, there were 53
deaths; in 1991, 39; and in 1992, 14.
Then, in 1993, the Japanese
government moved from recommending MMR to single vaccines instead. The number of
deaths from measles per year has since remained at between 14 and 25.
So in fact, in the years Japan was using MMR there were on average rather
more deaths from measles -- quite apart from the deaths and serious damage done
by the vaccine -- than since single jabs were introduced."--

They stopped vaccinating until age 2 in 1975 - but it is a strong URBAN
legend that it still is this way - it is NOT.
They now vaccinate extensively, starting at 2 or 3 months, but FAR less than the US

"It has become rather well known that when Japan raised its minimum vaccination age to two years in 1975 the overall infant mortality rate improved to become the best in the world. In an effort to find out what has become of this 'no vaccination under two' policy that the following information was searched for and collected into one place. In 1995, Japan's vaccination laws changed. The 2002 vaccination scehdule is below."

One other thing they did do was stop MMR and started to give separate and do NOT give mumps vaccine on schedule
In 1993, Japan abandoned MMR completely after it suffered an outbreak of aseptic meningitis triggered by the Urabe strain of mumps vaccine within the MMR
